“Rock To A Drug Free Beat” was the theme at Morrill Elementary School in Morrill, Nebraska. Students practiced multiple anti-drug songs for Red Ribbon Week. Each day, the school’s counselor hid a trophy shaped like a guitar on top. Whoever found it won prizes for his or her whole class, such as bubble-filled guitars. Plastic guitars and inflatable guitars served as prizes for a poster contest. All students received “Our School Rocks Drug Free” Guitar-Shaped Bookmarks and “I Rock Drug Free” Paper Glasses.
Leaders unite with the common goal of raising a generation of drug-free children who make healthy choices. The good news is that, thanks to creative approaches to anti-drug education, Red Ribbon Week has captured the attention of millions of young people.
